The Anchorage: A Hidden Paranormal Gem

Boo on Broad - Kingsport, TN
I just had the pleasure of being one of the featured speakers at the Boo on Broad event in Kingsport, TN. Funds raised for the event went for spaying and neutering. Kudos to Carol Hensley, the coordinator of the event. She has dedicated countless hours to benefit animals. I'd also like to give a nod to our good friends at HAUNT Paranormal. They were co-presenters and did a wonderful job of talking about their experience in paranormal investigating.
The presentation I gave was a brief version of Dark Enigma -Shadow People.

We spoke at ScareFest in Lexington, KY, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on September 28 - 30. We offered a presentation on Shadow People.

Oh Yeah, This is One Creepy Place
We just spent a couple of nights at The Rectory in Sedamsville, OH. The neighborhood activity outside scared me far worse than any paranormal activity that could have occurred inside the old priests' home. There's nothing like being in the middle of an EVP session when you hear a series of five shots ring out. Guns being fired very close to the building!
The Rectory is pretty much on the awesome meter, as far as atmosphere. However, we have yet to go through our audio and video. But, there does seem to be a shadow person that hangs out at the bottom of the steep red-carpeted stairs. Pesky thing kept lurking (love that word) in the same location on and off for the two days we were there.
I'm working on a story about The Rectory and was given an amazing lead by one of its neighbors. This man had grown up in the neighborhood with a Priest who had done extensive research on the site. I'll be following up on that lede.
The neighbor with whom I was speaking was in the process of loading his U-Haul to move to greener pastures. I asked why he was moving and received the curt reply, "Because I'm sick of waking up to finding dead bodies in the street." YIKES!!! Glad I slept sitting up and ready to run!
If you do decide to investigate The Rectory, it is a very cool place. Just know that the neighborhood is pretty darn sketchy.

The Rectory - Sedamsville, OH
We're getting ready to head to The Rectory in Sedamsville, OH. a place so haunted that Terrie and Tim, of the Midwest Preservation Society, tells us that their volunteers have been known to walk off the premises -- scared away by the intense paranormal activity that they later report. The perfect location for an investigation by The Ghost Writers, or any other serious team of preternatural investigators. 
This is one of those reportedly haunted locations that oozes atmosphere. We are absolutely psyched about the prospect of investigating, photographing, and then writing about this fantastic location.

Old WV Penitentiary - Moundsville - 5.12.2012
We've recently returned from an investigation at the Old West Virginia Penitentiary. The investigation was very productive. Bedford Paranormal (www.bedfordparanormal.com) took a photo of what appears to be a shadow person. We'll know more, once they have time to analyze the photo.
Look for a story about the investigation in an upcoming edition of The Loafer.
Rhodes Hall Castle Atlanta, GA - 1.13.12
I am psyched to be covering the Rhodes Hall investigation in Atlanta, GA, on January 13. The castle is visually amazing.
