The ScareFest and Haunted Horrors Reports
Filed: November 30, 2010
We've just returned from presenting at two amazing conventions, ScareFest, Lexington, KY, and The Haunted Horrors, Kingsport, TN. Both of these conventions offered anyone attending the opportunity to talk with and learn from experts in a number of specializations within the paranormal field.
The following are some candid shots of the activity at Scarefest. There are also some interesting photos from The Haunted Horrors Convention posted. The team poured their hearts and souls into making sure that their guests had a great time at their first conference.
Ken, Patti and Chuck were wonderful ScareFest hosts! Thanks for the hospitality.
Pictured below was the star of ScareFest (at least for me), the Great George Romero! Yes folks, the director of the only movie to ever truly scare me, Night of the Living Dead. I think it was because I was so young when I first saw the brain-loving zombie horde. Ah, the gentle memories of childhood. And yes, the closet monster lives and it wants your. . .brains. The award for scaring the bjeezus out of the GW founder goes to George!
Below is Brian Harnois, formerly of The Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, known for the catch phrase "Dude Run!" Brian is pictured presenting at ScareFest '10.
The ScareFest sign welcomed over 8,000 paranormal and horror fans to the Lexington Center, the location of the convention.
GW founder Pat Bussard is shown with paranormal author and investigator Paul Browning on the red carpet at ScareFest.

The decorations for the conference were first rate. No detail was spared!

Extremely busy spring and summer
July 11, 2010
The dark, mist shrouded streets of New Orleans and the balmy beaches of Oahu, Hawaii, were two stops during The Ghost Writers' pursuit of the paranormal this spring and summer. We literally have gigs of photos, videos and audio to go through from a number of investigations, so check back.
New Orleans, with its unique music, cuisine, and architecture, is one of our favorite cities. Many of the streets in the Old Quarter are lit by the electric version of the quaint old lamplights that used to grace major cities across the country. The light dresses the sultry crescent city in her finest and you just know that right around the next corner you'll step back in time and see her as she once was, the grand lady of the south. New Orleans never fails to put us in awe of her paranormal power. Check it out on the videos page.
Oahu, Hawaii, has a surprising number of haunted locations. Many of the stories of paranormal activity are linked closely with the ancient religion of the region. Pele, the Hawaiian Goddess of fire, lightning, dance and volcanoes, is one of the most popular figures mentioned.
Indeed, the sunny days and blue water belie the dark and windy nights, framed by craggy cliffs and pounding surf. Oahu is an astounding dichotomy of light and dark, mountain and ocean, ancient Gods and modern haunts.
The GW Team is New Orleans Bound!
March 22, 2010
The Ghost Writers are planning several investigations in New Orleans this spring. The city is awash in stories of ghostly activity and the team will be checking out several reportedly haunted sites. One of the stops on the team's agenda is St. Louis #1. The historical crown jewel of this cemetery is the tomb of the powerful Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. The Bottom of the Cup tearoom is another site the Ghost Writers will be visiting. This quaint old building holds more than just talented psychics, it is also the home of a beautiful ghost name Julie, who was a true victim of forbidden love. A less romantic haunted location, but one rife with activity, is the 14,000 square foot former funeral home known as The Mortuary. This amazing mansion graces the address of 4800 Canal Street. The Mortuary is quite literally the end of the road (Canal Street that is) and is surrounded on two sides by an old cemetery. We will also be photographing the rich architecture of the Vieux Carre, the people, and the city. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
The video "The Ghost Writers: New Orleans Bound" is a Vlog about the GW's upcoming trek to NOLA. Check it out on the video page.
